Calculate how much powdered pigment you need for your concrete mix. Use the default ratio or enter your own cement amount for full control.
Select whether you want to calculate using total volume (m³), area with depth (m²), or full dimensions (length × width × depth).
Fill in the required fields based on the method you selected. All depths should be in millimetres.
Tick the box to use your own cement mix ratio (kg per m³) instead of the default 325kg/m³. This is useful for stronger mixes.
The calculator will show you how much powdered pigment to use for a 5% standard colour or a 10% strong colour mix.
Most concrete pigment manufacturers recommend using between 3–10% pigment based on the weight of cement in your mix. For a subtle colour, 5% is a common choice, while 10% is the maximum for rich, bold tones. The pigment should be thoroughly mixed into the dry components before adding water to ensure even colour distribution.
This calculator assumes an average cement content of 325 kg per m³ of concrete, which suits standard C25 mixes often used for driveways, slabs, and garden rooms. If you’re using a different mix design, you can enter your own cement ratio for a more accurate result.
For the best finish, always test a small batch before committing to a large pour — different cements, aggregates, and water content can slightly alter the final colour of your concrete.
